PhotoMentor ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services. By using our App, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account Information: Email address, username, profile picture (optional)
• Photos: Images you upload for AI analysis
• User Content: Feedback, notes, preferences, favorites
• Communications: Support requests, feedback you submit
• Payment Information: Processed securely by Apple App Store/Google Play Store; we do not store payment details

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, OS version, unique identifiers
• Usage Data: Features used, analysis history, session duration
• Photo Metadata: EXIF data (camera settings, GPS if present) for analysis purposes only
• Crash Reports: Technical data for debugging (via Sentry)
• Analytics: Anonymous usage patterns (via PostHog)

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide AI-powered photo analysis and personalized feedback
• Deliver and improve our educational content and courses
• Track your learning progress and achievements
• Process subscriptions and manage your account
• Send important notifications about your account or the service
• Respond to your support requests and communications
• Analyze usage patterns to improve our service
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and fraud
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Photo Data and AI Processing

Processing: Photos you upload are analyzed by our AI systems (Google Cloud Vertex AI) to provide feedback on composition, lighting, color, and technique.

Storage: Photos are stored securely on encrypted cloud storage (Supabase). You may delete your photos at any time through the App.

No Sharing: We do NOT sell, rent, share, or use your photos for advertising, marketing, or training our AI models beyond providing you with analysis results.

EXIF Data: Metadata is used solely for analysis context and is never shared with third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Cloud / Vertex AI: AI photo analysis (subject to Google Cloud Privacy Policy)
• Supabase: Database, authentication, file storage (encrypted)
• RevenueCat: Subscription management
• Sentry: Error tracking and crash reporting
• PostHog: Anonymous product analytics
• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Payment processing

Each service is bound by their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Data Security

• All data transmission is encrypted using TLS 1.3
• Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256
• Access controls and authentication for all systems
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Secure API authentication with JWT tokens

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Upon account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal claims).

8. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Other Jurisdictions)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("Right to be Forgotten")

• Restriction: Limit how we process your data
• Objection: Object to certain processing activities
• Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent at any time
• Non-Discrimination: Exercise rights without discrimination (CCPA)

To exercise these rights: Use "Delete My Data" in App settings, or email privacy@photomentor.app. We will respond within 30 days.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your jurisdiction (e.g., United States). We ensure appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place for such transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

PhotoMentor is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

11. Cookies and Tracking

Our App does not use cookies. Our website may use essential cookies for functionality. We do not engage in cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.

12. Do Not Track

We honor Do Not Track signals. When detected, we disable non-essential analytics.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-App notification at least 30 days before changes take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
